2012 St. George Marathon 2:54:39 Long-Term Running Goals: I love to run! I want to feel good and run for a very long time. Personal: My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7. Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids. I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home. For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby. Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.
I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18. Now I train with the girl who broke my record. I love the marathon and half marathon. Long runs are what keep me from going crazy. Favorite Blogs: |

| 15 miles with Melanie, Kim and Jane down AF Canyon to Gold's Gym in AF. Melanie threw up at mile 4 and kept on going. Kim and Jane were talking away and I felt like if I said anything I wouldn't be able to keep up. I felt like I ran really hard and, according to my last summer standards, it wasn't that hard.

| 18 miles. Melanie was gone to a race so I asked Marie to run 10 miles with me. She's the only person I know who can regularly run 8 min miles for months and still be able to bust out a 10 mile run at 7 min pace. We ran a hilly route from my house out past Timp View High School and back. avg 7:06 pace. I think I was more tired than she was. Brent came on his bike with me for 8 more. Avg at end of run 7:08 pace. Was discouraged to be so tired running so slow. Right now I can't imagine running a sub 3 at the Salt Lake City Marathon on April 19th. I need to just enjoy that I can run at all and be happy with whatever I get. I just want to finish feeling good, haven't done that in a while, the only marathon I did last year was a disaster. Hoping for more fun this year.

| 15 miles. I thought I was just going to go 12 or I would have been more nervous about this workout. 5 mile warm-up on treadmill. 10 x .5 mile with .25 recovery. 2 @ 10, 3 @ 10.1, (little break), 3 @ 10.2, (little break), 2 @ 10.2. I felt like I was going to throw-up after #8 and again after #10. Then Melanie and I ran a 3 mile cool-down outside. Felt like I worked really hard.
