Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

Last night wasn't much better.  I went back to setting the alarm every three hours to give my son medicine, midnight and 3 a.m. went fine.  Then he came down at 4:30 a.m. crying saying his throat hurt.  I had him gargle salt water and he came into our bed.  He went right to sleep, but after 30 minutes of laying there awake I went to the couch.  My house is much more noisy in the family room, the fridge makes noise off and on and so does the heater.  It reminded me of trying to sleep at my brother-in-laws house in St. George before the marathon.  I should have gotten in my son's bed or in bed with my daughter.

If I was going to run I needed to do it early today.  But I was so tired early and there is no chance for a nap with the kids Christmas parties I'm helping out with at school.  I'm just hoping I can keep up with Melanie B tomorrow morning on our 15 mile run.  I'm also hoping I can sleep better tonight.

Sorry your son's not feeling good. If it makes you feel better, I'm a terrible aim, too. That's why I've resigned myself to sit on the toilet for all my duties. And doodies.

I used to think you only knew too much about me, but now I know too much about you too.

There's so much more I have to share with the world.
