Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

10 miles with mostly with Josse, Melody and Rebecca.

Yesterday morning I was thinking about how nice it is my quads haven't bothered me in so long. Then I was in and out of the car and up and down sitting and standing all day. Late in the afternoon I all the sudden had a pain in my quad as I got up off the toilet. I pulled a muscle going to the bathroom! It hurt really bad last night. I couldn't even run a few steps after dinner when I tried to kick the soccer ball with my daughter.

So this morning I got out of bed, put on my socks and shoes and ran down the cul-de-sac and back in my pj's at 5:20 a.m. before getting ready to run. I didn't want to get all dressed and drive somewhere to meet people and then not be able to run.

Fortunately it didn't hurt the whole time I ran and doesn't feel any worse now, so I think I'm ok. Some resting and rubbing today and tomorrow and I should be good.

Glad no one saw you in your pj's. Which for all I know were probably your garments!

Burt - garments and a shirt(that I only wear to bed because it shows too much garments). You know me too well for being mostly internet friends. I figured in the dark the bottoms could be mistaken for white running tights.

Allie - The toilet IS a dangerous place. I've hurt my quad standing up off the toilet before. My brother teased me about this a few months ago saying, "anyone else would blame the it on the 20 miles they did, but you blame it on the toilet." Maybe I need handrails installed in my bathroom like my grandma had.

I admit the other night when my wife saw flashlight guy in our backyard, I went outside in nothing but garments. It was 3 in the morning, though.
