Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

4 mile run with my brother.  Minimal pain starting 1/2 way through, but quite a bit of pain later in the day and the next day.  I'm so discouraged.  We ran about a 7:30 pace and I was breathing a lot harder than I was a month ago.

Oh man, you too! SO many bloggers are injured right now! I'm sorry you are paying your dues too. I'm really starting to lose motivation to even work out because I really don't enjoy cross-training. I guess all we can do is the best we can and hope we heal quickly. Happy healing.

I haven't done much on the blog lately. I thought it would be too discouraging to read about all the awesome workouts everyone else was probably doing. Taking time off in the winter wouldn't be so bad if I knew I was going to be able to get right back into it and have an awesome summer. It's those thoughts like, "What if this is the beginning of the end for me," that make it hard. I'm nervous to start running again for fear I'll reinjure it. When it first falired up I couldn't even walk /limp without severe pain. I hope when we look back on 2010 January will be a very minor setback. I don't enjoy cross-training either.
