Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

I woke up Sunday morning with even more swelling in my left knee and a lot of soreness in my right shoulder and the left side of my neck.  I whiplashed my neck and bruised my shoulder when I hit the ground on Saturday.  The maid problem is my left knee.  It's hard to imagine how in the world I'll be able to run a marathon on Saturday when my knee is so swollen and hurts so bad that I can't even walk normally on Monday.  This is very discouraging.  I'm taking Ibuprofin off and on and iceing it several times a day.  I guess later today or tomorrow I'll start alternating heat/ice.

Oh no! Now I'm off to read your Saturday entry. Just take it easy and take of it. It should heal in time for Saturday.

Burt - The sister running/biking with me lives in Tucson, but I have another sister in Gilbert which is closer to you. If I ever go visit them I'll try to remember to toilet paper your house or something.

That's cool. It's a rental.
