2012 St. George Marathon 2:54:39 Long-Term Running Goals: I love to run! I want to feel good and run for a very long time. Personal: My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7. Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids. I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home. For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby. Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.
I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18. Now I train with the girl who broke my record. I love the marathon and half marathon. Long runs are what keep me from going crazy. Favorite Blogs: |

More computer problems. I spent at least 4 hours dealing with my computer, 4 hours! I could have gotten so many more things done in 4 hours. It's not that old and still under warranty, but this is such a pain. | Add Comment |

| 9 miles at the track. I decided to drown my computer frustrations in laps on the track. Met Melody, Emily, Rebecca and Josse at the BYU track. 8 x 800 meter with 1 1/2 lap recovery. Times: 2:56, 2:55, 2:56, 2:55, 2:53, 2:55, 2:55, 2:55. I was worried I would slow down on number 5 and ended up going faster, number 7 and 8 hurt a lot more than the others, but I was happy to keep the same pace. | Comments(4) |

| 10 miles. warmed up, 5 mile tempo run, cool down. Tempo part, 6:34, 6:41, 6:34, 6:20, 6:59. The last one was on the running trial. Had to totally stop to turn to get onto the trail, it was slippery in parts and I basically walked over a bridge without stopping my watch. | Comments(1) |

20 miles avg 7:15 pace. Melanie, Rebecca, Josse and Melody met at my house and we ran an out and back route with several hills. It was cold and the wind was terrible the last 2 1/2 miles. It was at our backs the first few miles then we were out of it, but coming back it hit us full force a couple miles from the end. That hurt our average pace some. | Add Comment |
