Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

10 miles avg 7:03 pace with my husband on his bike.  I felt a little better than yesterday, but still hurt more than I should have for the pace I was running.

10 miles avg 6:55 pace.  I ran faster and felt a lot better than I did Tuesday.  I had a little more sleep the last few days, which was nice.  I was really busy with bookkeeping trying to get things done for people before April 15th, so I sat at my desk almost all day Mon and Tues, and a little in the morning Wednesday.  Wednesday afternoon I rewarded myself by doing yard work.  I got my boys to  help me move a bush that I decided was too close to the house.  Hopefully it will live.  We also sprayed weeds.

4 miles avg 7:05 pace. The kids had a sleepover at their Grandma Esplin's house with their cousins because it's spring break. I went to bed at 11:00 p.m. and didn't get out of bed until 9:45 a.m. I woke up several times after about 7:00 a.m. but couldn't make myself get up until then. I think my allergy medication makes me drowsy. Once I get going I'm fine, but it's sure hard to get up.

23 miles avg 7:01 pace.  My husband came with me on his bike for the first 17 miles then he needed to take  my son to baseball practice.  We went up/down Provo Canyon and into South Fork.  As we got close to the house at mile 17 I wanted to be done.  I ran a little too fast coming down the canyon for several miles and was starting to feel it.  My pace was 7:00 average at this point.  I headed back up the canyon for another 6 miles though and managed to keep my pace about the same as I finished with a 7:01 average.  It was good to be done.  Three weeks to my next marathon.
