Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

10 miles with Melanie, Melody and Emily in Lehi.  Fresh snow on the ground slowed us down so that was good.  I didn't want to go any faster.  avg 7:03 pace.  I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and still went to bed at my usual time.  Still catching up on sleep.

10 miles with 7 x 800 m intervals at OHS track with Melanie and Melody.  800 times: 2:57, 2:59, 2:57, 2:59, 2:57, 2:59 and 2:57.  I was consistently inconsistent.  My times were only a couple of seconds slower than they usually are, but I felt more tired than usual.  I think I'll feel better by Saturday, and we're still planning on going easy that day.

4 miles slow.  Didn't take my watch and I'm not just saying it was slow, I'm sure it really was slow, even stopped and walked for a minute or so as I sent a text during the run, etc.

14 miles in the snow.  Headed up Provo Canyon from my house with Melody, Melanie and Kim.  We got 2 miles up the canyon when we turned around because the snow was getting deeper.  Ran down Univ Ave about 4 miles south of the canyon and back to my house for 14 miles.  This run would have been miserable without good company.  Melanie especially hated the snow.
