Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

My husband asked me if I would be able to repair a pair of his church pants.  The stitching came undone on the side by his pocket.  I looked at them and said, "Ya.  Just put them somewhere where I'll see them."  He said, "On your running shoes?"

10 miles with Melody and Melanie in Lehi with 15 x 30 sec fast / 90 sec slow. I made it through the workout just fine then Melanie was determined to get our average under 7 min pace and I wished I had a gu for the "cool down." avg 6:53 pace I think.

10 miles with Melanie, our Smith's route from Melanie's house in Lehi.  When I went to bed the night before it was 17 degrees.  In my prayer I said, "It would be nice if it could warm up 5 degrees or so in the night."  Then as I got in bed I thought, "What if I wake up and it's only 12 degrees outside?  I don't know what I'll do."  I almost started laughing when I looked at my clock/thermometer in the morning and it was 12!  I put on double layers and headed out the door.  Avg 6:52 pace.

4 miles on my treadmill while my kids played in the basement.  I so didn't want to do it, but somehow forced myself to anyway.

14 miles with Melanie, Melody and Kim from Kim's house.  About 3 1/2 miles into the run I was so tired I actually wondered if I needed to turn around.  The first 4 miles or so were mostly uphill.  Then we hit alittle downhill and that helped.  At mile 7 I got a big drink and felt a little better.  At mile 8 I took the one gu I had and a mile or so later it kicked in.  The last four miles weren't too bad.  Avg 7:00 pace.
